Beschreibung
Ortskern des Fleckens Gartow, der ursprünglich nur aus den Häusern entlang der heutigen Hauptstraße bestand. Nach dem Dreißigjährigen Krieg und weiterem Verfall im 18. Jahrhundert planmäßig wiederaufgebaut. Meist zweigeschossige, traufständige Gebäude, ursprünglich als durchgehende Häuserzeilen errichtet, nach mehreren Brandereignissen später zum Teil mit Bauwichen neu errichtet. Kirche aus der ursprünglichen Wiederaufbauphase, erbaut 1723-24.
Denkmalbegründung
Die Erhaltung der Gruppe baulicher Anlagen Siedlungskern Gartow liegt aufgrund seiner geschichtlichen und städtebaulichen Bedeutung im öffentlichen Interesse.
